Information We Collect

We collect only what is necessary to operate this platform. Specifically:

  • Account information: Your email address and a hashed password, provided when you create an account or sign in. Passwords are never stored in plain text — they are processed and stored securely by Google Firebase Authentication.
  • Contact form submissions: Your name, email address, and message when you submit the contact form on our site.
  • Session data: An encrypted session cookie (__session) is placed in your browser after sign-in to keep you authenticated across page visits. This cookie contains no personally identifiable information beyond a secure token tied to your account.
  • Usage data: We do not currently run analytics or tracking scripts. No browsing behavior, IP addresses, or device identifiers are collected by us beyond what Firebase may log as part of its service.
02

How We Use Your Information

Your information is used solely to operate and improve The Tech Couture platform:

  • To create and manage your account and authenticate your identity.
  • To provide access to the members-only The Tech Couture Toolkit.
  • To respond to messages submitted through the contact form.
  • To send transactional emails you explicitly request — such as password reset or email verification links.

We do not use your data for advertising, do not sell it to third parties, and do not use it for any purpose beyond operating this platform.

03

Data Storage & Third-Party Services

The Tech Couture uses the following third-party services to operate:

  • Google Firebase (Authentication & Realtime Database): Your account credentials and the tool database are stored on Firebase infrastructure operated by Google LLC. Firebase is subject to Google's Privacy Policy and processes data in accordance with its terms. See firebase.google.com/support/privacy.
  • Hosting: This site is hosted on Vercel. Vercel may log server-side request metadata (IP address, request path, timestamp) as part of standard web infrastructure. See vercel.com/legal/privacy-policy.

No data is stored on our own servers. All personal data resides within these third-party systems under their respective data processing agreements.

04

Cookies

We use one cookie:

  • __session — A secure, httpOnly session cookie set after you sign in. It stores an encrypted token used to verify your identity on subsequent visits. It expires after 5 days or when you sign out, whichever comes first.

We do not use analytics cookies, advertising cookies, or any third-party tracking cookies. You can disable cookies in your browser settings, but doing so will prevent you from staying signed in.

05

Your Rights & Data Control

You have full control over your personal data:

  • Access: Your email address is visible in your Account Settings at any time.
  • Update: You can update your email address or password at any time in Account Settings.
  • Delete: You can permanently delete your account from Account Settings → Delete Account. This removes your authentication record from Firebase immediately and is irreversible.
  • Contact requests: If you submitted a message via our contact form and wish to have it removed, email us at kyliah.almeida@thetechcouture.com.

If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA) or United Kingdom, you have additional rights under the GDPR including the right to access, rectification, erasure, and data portability. To exercise these rights, contact us at the email above.

06

Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account exists. If you delete your account, your authentication data is removed from Firebase immediately. Contact form submissions are retained in our email inbox indefinitely unless you request removal. Session cookies expire after 5 days automatically.

07

Children's Privacy

This platform is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

08

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the effective date at the top of this page. Continued use of the platform after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy. For material changes, we will make reasonable efforts to notify registered users by email.
